![]() ![]() But is kinda good in its own right? So, maybe I'll use it b/c I don't have anything for that gear?" And then my characters always felt like they were kinda just. But I think I drowned in PoE, or I didn't play long enough to make a build work, and I was always playing the game like, "Okay. ![]() Yeah, I think I end up feeling like PoE is just bland? I know basically everybody on the planet disagrees w/ me, b/c PoE is widely-agreed as super awesome. If you want to be a blade vortex character for example, you could do it as a witch, a ranger, a marauder, a scion, or others, and the gameplay will be basically the same (but how you build the passives and gear would be different). Rather than "choose your class" the game is really more "choose your skill." Class is secondary to choice of primary skill, but of course you aren't told that in an organic way if you just launch the game and try to start playing. Lack of class identity is an intentional design choice in PoE, and part of how the game offers such a dizzying amount of build diversity / build options. So, I am sad and I don't really want to play Diablo 2 w/o the LoD content.Ī legitimate concern. People on the Blizz forums say just install it and activate w/ the LoD key I got, but this doesn't work. I downloaded the installer from Blizzard, but there doesn't seem to be any way to activate the content. So, what should I be playing if I really liked Diablo 2, but I hate Path of Exile?ĮDIT: I suppose somebody will ask, why not just play Diablo 2? I tried! I can't get the LoD expansion to install. The classes could be fun, and feel totally different, and excel in different situations, and it was all cool. When I played Diablo 2, I felt like the different classes played in fundamentally different ways. I can't even explain why, except to say that I don't feel like the characters have much identity. A ton of people have told me that Path of Exile is the best aRPG ever, but I just. I was completely addicted to Diablo 2 back in the day. There's always been something about Diablo 3 that doesn't quite work for me. That got me playing Diablo 3 a bit, which is fun, but I dunno. + masteries greatly(perfectly?) complement each other, far better survivability, great dps boni with shields, colossus formĨ.I've been playing a lot of Warframe, and it's fun and all, but I kind of want to play something with a different loot grinding system. when other classes get the maul, your dps rank drops heavily, very bad damage soaking capability poison isnt that effective on your melee weapon since you just killed what you poisoned. – cant use thorny maul with Lethal strike, cant use blade honing with bows. Highest damage hits possible with Lethal strike(even if others get mauls), traps(deserve to be mentioned twice), as long as you dont have thorny mauls by far the highest dps. great defensive skills, specializing on not getting hit. + awesome synergies between traps and hunting, also both masteries like piercing damage. As long as you dont get thorny maul Slayers actually have worse dps than rangers. – Battle Standard isnt that great with Thorny Mauls. + if you get your hand on thorny maul + sapros the corrupter its the highest dps build out there plus you get Bosskiller Ancestral horn. – Melee doesnt work as well with these skills as bows do. + Wolves, great buffs, permanent call up, imo best archer build out there – looking at skills avengers have the worst dps of all hunter builds, also taunt isnt that great when you onehit everything. + Core Dweller, Stone form, strong “melee” via eruption – 2 different base damage types means one will always lack potential + Squall to eliminate enemy archers, nice elemental damage bonuses, stuns, heart of frost to make sure an opponent wont hit you twice + Unearthly power, Outsider, Liche King, Anti Undead skills
